What is your name, your job title company and location?

My name is Janet Santiago, my job title is equipment control safety supervisor and I work for Pec Anchor Transportation in the City of Wilmington, CA.

What is your favorite thing about the platform that you’ve seen during boot camp?

The fact that the drivers can access this say for instance if they’re go long hauls or they’re waiting to get loaded or whatever, they’re able to watch the training videos while they wait, they can access it from their phone and they get a certificate at the end of the video. I think that’s actually a good thing, especially when you have some drivers that sometimes do certain things. Like corrective action. I think that’s awesome, something that we would love to implement with our in our company.

What are the most important takeaways that you got from the program?

Safety is very important. Coming into this department, you know, I’m a newbie, so I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. But then coming here, I’m like, hey, this safety thing is a very big deal. So, I think those videos will help out a lot.

And if someone’s on the fence about coming to boot camp, what would you tell them?

Just come. You’ll be worth it. It’s really fun and you get to learn a lot of new things. Like for example, myself that I’m new to safety. I’m learning that It actually will help your company when drivers do certain things. And you can have a certificate, the corrective action once again that right there is a big thing that I’m taking with me.
